Questions

Is my document uploaded anywhere?

No. Your browser opens the document directly on your device. The site only loads its own scripts, styles and fonts; the contents, name and bytes of your file are never sent to a server.

Will it look exactly like in Word?

Close, but not always identical. Your browser renders the document, so fonts and page breaks may differ. Charts, SmartArt and shapes are redrawn and may look slightly different; the newest chart types (such as waterfall or treemap) are not shown yet.

Can I open .doc or .rtf files?

Yes. RTF files open with their formatting. Old .doc files (Word 97–2003) open as a text-only preview: text and tables without formatting or pictures. For the full layout, save the file as .docx.

Is it safe to open a document from someone I don’t know?

DocViewer never runs macros or scripts from a document, does not load pictures from the internet, and opens links only when you click them, in a new tab.

How large can the document be?

Up to 50 MB. Very long documents with many images take a few seconds to open.
