Is my CSV uploaded anywhere?
No. Your browser opens the file directly on your device. The site only loads its own scripts, styles and fonts; the contents, name and bytes of your file are never sent to a server.
Does it work with semicolons or tabs?
Yes. The separator — comma, semicolon, tab or pipe — is detected automatically, and quoted values with separators or line breaks inside stay in one cell.
My file shows strange characters. Why?
DocViewer reads UTF-8 and UTF-16 and guesses common legacy encodings (Windows-1252, Windows-1251). If a file uses another encoding, save it as UTF-8 and open it again.
How large can the file be?
Up to 20 MB and 1,000,000 rows. For longer files the first rows are shown and the status bar says so.
